What to do
3 items- Watch for announcements of the next location
So far, official announcements have come about two weeks before each round (Mar 13 for round 1, Jun 9 for round 2). They appear on TikTok Shop Japan's PR TIMES page and TikTok Japan's official note.
- Act on the assumption that there's no announced way to join
Both rounds so far were co-hosted by a local shopping-street association, supported by the prefecture and city, and run with shop accounts that sell regional specialties. No application process for ordinary sellers has been announced. If a round is set for your area, ask the co-hosting association whether there's room to take part.
- Prepare explanations for buyers outside your prefecture
A seller in round 1 was quoted as saying “most buyers were from outside the prefecture.” Prepare explanations — where it's made, how it's made — that make sense to people who don't know the place.
